MAP Testing Resources
Three times each school year Holy Family students participate in Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing. MAP testing is used in 6,800 school districts across the United States and given to 8 million students each year. The purpose of MAP testing is to pinpoint a student’s current achievement level and show growth during the course of the school year. MAP testing also provides teachers with specific information about student strength and weaknesses in each content area. These
results are then used to individualize instruction for each student.
This past Spring Diocesan Assistant Superintendent Jeremy Hughes compiled MAP testing results for all Diocesan schools and compared each schools results to the national average. Holy Family as well as all schools in the Catholic Diocese of Lexington performed well above the national average in all content areas tested by MAP.
All classroom teachers have been provided with a multitude of online activities that will be used in the classroom and will correlate to each student’s achievement level. During October parent conferences teachers will explain levels of achievement (RIT) on each test. The purpose of this webpage is to provide you with online activities you can access at home that will supplement classroom instruction. Many of these activities are games that students will have fun with while learning.
If you have any questions about which activities are appropriate for your child please contact your child’s teacher.
